Family Campsite $30

Inks Lake State Park is a beautiful and very popular park north-west of Austin. All of our campsites are adjacent to one another so we have one whole section basically to ourselves. In addition, we added a few sites for Friday night for anyone interested in camping for 2 nights. It should be a lot of fun!

OVERNIGHT CAMPSITES:

Only $30 per family for a campsite. The person hauling the trailer will pick a central campsite to use as a basecamp for the group meals and campfire. We have booked 3 sites for Friday night and 12 sites for Saturday night. Note that priority for Friday night sites will be given to those who sign up and pay first. We also have the option of doubling up at campsites, depending on tent sizes. If you are interested in staying Friday night, please note it on the Signup Genius page.

MEALS:

$7 per person pays for meals and includes dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

ACTIVITIES:

There is usually a hike in the afternoon before we all get together to start cooking dinner around 5pm on Saturday evening. Everyone lends a hand to prepare, cook and clean up before we enjoy s'mores around the campfire. Sunday morning we'll have breakfast, pack up campsites, and clean up the area before heading out.

HOW TO PAY:

You can pay for your campsite fee and meals through Paypal on this page. If you have any additional questions or special requests, please contact Vance Toth.

Campsites: Located along the Central Loop

Friday Night: 265, 266, 269 (Blue on the map below)

Saturday Night: 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 223, 224, 225, 262, 265, 266, 269

Arrival: There is no set arrival time for the scouts since some families may have other activities and commitments to work around. Typically, you will need to pay the park entrance fee when you arrive which is around $7 per adult, children 12 and younger are free. Campsite check-in opens at 2:00pm. Sites may be available earlier but cannot be guaranteed. You may arrive earlier and enjoy the park until you are able to check-in. If you are going to arrive later than 4:00, please notify the leaders so we can make sure the park headquarters is aware.

Campsites will not be assigned ahead of time. You may take any of our reserved campsites you like, but please let the park headquarters know which site you take (assuming they require you to register with them).

Basecamp: We'll pick when we get out there with the trailer.

Saturday Morning: If you stay Friday night or arrive early on Saturday, there is an event called "Pollinator Appreciation Day" put on by park staff. Learn about native pollinators and their importance. Starts at 10am. Details can be found here.

Saturday Afternoon: We will probably meet at the basecamp by 2:00pm. Hike will start shortly afterwards. More information will be provided as logistics get worked out. If available, we may also try to borrow fishing gear from the park headquarters.

Sunday Morning: At 9am there is an event called "Outdoor Skills" put on by park staff where you might learn about nature journaling, macro photography, track and scat identification, or other activities. Details can be found here.
